Bad: Can you hear me now?

USAToday (via Yahoo):

NSA has massive database of Americans' phone calls

The National Security Agency has been secretly collecting the phone call records of tens of millions of Americans, using data provided by AT&T, Verizon and BellSouth, people with direct knowledge of the arrangement told USA TODAY.

Telecommunications corporations selling out the American pub-blick, and we are paying for the luxury. Remember this, as you drive down the road chatting on the phone and picking your nose, Big Brother is there. Somewhere in an undislcosed location you may be disclosing your commo to the MAN!

Everyone should be wiretapped for the good of the country. I mean, even if you have nothing to hide then it doesn't really matter. You'd be doing your part to fight terrorism. The innermost details of your life should be open to the government. You do want to help, right?

I'd reckon Ann Coulter would be doing her civic duty if her phone was tapped too. She should volunteer just to prove to everyone it's really no big deal. Then after 3 months, we could listen to all of the tapes on an independent site.

Let's wiretap Liberals too since than are being targeted as "un-american" and "helping the enemy" more so than Osama (Remember him?). We could actually spy on people who actually give a dam about their liberties and privacy! Man, that would really be funnier than the Jerky Boys!

Maybe they are tapping you right now! Wonderful! They are doing you a favor. Hell, your wife could be cheating on you. You could be cheating on your wife. Utopia! A totally open society! Your kid could be a closet homosexual or a prostitute. If a beloved family member was smoking pot don't worry (Just once, to try it), if they aren't Islamofacists it doesn't matter, cause the Government ALWAYS does the right thing. They are your BESTEST FRIEND EVER!

I'm much happier knowing the government could wiretapp anyone it deems fit, after the fact, with up to three days to notify the FISA court and still not telling anyone. Hooray!

No we learn that 10 million people may have been wiretapped by our telephone buddies. Is there 10 million Terrists in the Ole Yo Ess of A! Shit! It ain't looking so good. I thought we were fighting them over there so we didn't have to fight them here.

"The United States Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (or FISC) is a U.S. federal court authorized under 50 U.S.C. § 1803 and established by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 (known as FISA for short). Its jurisdiction is to oversee requests for surveillance warrants by federal police agencies (primarily the F.B.I.) against suspected foreign intelligence agents inside the United States"

I've read there is more information than they can process. WTF good is it then? Judging from past performance we might be lucky to find out after the fact.

FACT: Since 911 JUST ONE terror related conviction to date. The guy they charged in Germany (in a German court) was recently released. Mossaui was just recently convicted and Osama is where? Yea, this wiretapping thing isn't going quite well. Do Americans needs to switch over to Osama's carrier?

These guys can evade US NSA/FBI/CIA/US Forces billion dollar budgets and pull off the most devasting operation in history and the terrorists are still stupid enough to use a fucking phone? We are afraid of these buffons who are still using telephones.

Bush didn't need the Patriot Act to chase terrorist. FISA has been around since 1978.

We know who the goverment is spying on:

  • Vegans
  • PETA
  • Tired-ass liberal refugees from the 60's.
  • People who claim milk is bad for you
  • Quakers
  • Congressman with integrity

Corporate America: We don't make the things which make your life better, China does. We just partner with the goverment to fleece and spy on you.

Think I'm being cynical? What about Senator Leahy (See sidebar):

''Are you telling me that tens of millions of Americans are involved with al Qaeda?'' Leahy asked. ''These are tens of millions of Americans who are not suspected of anything ... Where does it stop?''

Get Donkephant's take on the NSA (Can you hear me now).

Oracle; out.
